Moneragala Hashan sir and Suneth sir who committed sexual offence on schoolgirls ... in custody!

An incident where two teachers who of Moneragala Madhuraketiya Maha Vidyalaya were taken into custody as a result of an incident of sexual abuse were released had created an uproar in the internet with video clips accompanying incident concerned. 

Both Suneth Hettigoda who has carved a name for himself by conducting private classes on the subject of Engineering Technology in Moneragala who is a teacher of this school and Hashan Ratnayaka the other teacher of History of the same school who had been conducting private classes

had duped female students attending their private classes and for a period of time had been abusing the girls. The two teachers have gone to the extent of exchanging some girls between each other and proceeded with this activity.

What flared up this clandestine activity was an instance where the History teacher Hashan Ratnayaka has got round one of his pupils and having taken her to his home had abused her. It was revealed at preliminary inquiries that this teacher who is understood to be a married person had made his wife remain at his parent's home in Polonnaruwa and brought this girl to his home and sexually abused her. 

Later, he had transferred the girl concerned to his friend, the other tuition sir Suneth Hettigoda for his sexual inclinations, it is reported. Suneth who had taken the girl to a lodge close to a leading junior school in Moneragala town and had secured video clips of his sexual activity and had released those scenes to the Facebook, it was revealed. The police had for over a week carried out a survey about the video which circulated over the social media and had subsequently taken the girl and suspected teacher into custody. On that occasion what the girl had told police was that it was History teacher Hashan who initially had sexually abused her. After interrogation of both teachers, the two of them were arrested. 

According to surveys carried out by police, it was exposed that they had on a number of occasions abused several other students on many an instance.

 and what they say is that the said activity took place on the willingness of these student. It is learned that History teacher Hashan Ratnayaka was someone who has strong political links with the former regime and was also someone who had been bestowed President's Award for being the most skilled teacher in the whole of Moneragala zone. It was revealed at investigations that some of these students have concealed certain incidents because of the said teacher's powerful contacts. 

The two teachers who were taken into custody day-before-yesterday (24) night were produced before Moneragala magistrate yesterday (2) and were remanded till 3rd of next month (5).
