Makundure Madush plans to run an underground army and kill all those who oppose it!
In order to form one strong underground army comprising of underground leaders and members islandwide, Madush Lakshitha alias Makandure Madush, an underground kinpin presently in hiding in Dubai has launched a programme according to information received by underground control units.
As reported, Makandure Madush, considered as the underground 'Godfather' of this country has launched a plan to murder underground activists who oppose him in his procedures, the unit was informed. Information has further been reported to that unit that the wife of an underground leader
who was remanded was to be killed in front of Welikada Prison on instructions of Makandure Madush. That murder-attempt was foiled last 13th by Police Special Task Force with five underground members of a group being taken into custody. Police Special Task Force has got information that this clique would be coming with the motive of killing the wife of "Pugoda Manjula" who in fact was remanded for a case of homicide and and a number of cases of looting.
The special Task Force was able to get information that this plan was to be executed by "Kaduwela Bola Wasantha", presently under Welikada remand custody, on instructions of Makandure Madush. Pugoda Manjula who happens to be a stalwart of a group who opposes Makandure Madush had been informed by Bola Wasantha to join hands with Madush's gang. The underground control unit say that Pugoda Manjula has opposed that discussion which transpired within the prisons.
For that very reason in order to hurt Pugoda Manjua, Bola Wasantha has taken steps to launch a plan of murdering his wife on orders of Madush. According to this information, officers of the Special Task Force in order to make investigations in that connection had gone somewhere close to Welikada Prison and had been alert about this when at that moment officers of the Special Task Force who were alert on what was going round had suspected a certain person standing close to a bus halt close to the prison and officers of the Special Task Force who were dressed in civil uniform had approached the person concerned. Officers of the Special Task Force have overheard the telephone dialogue in which this person was engaged in and were able to confirm that this incidentally was one person who had come to carry out the killing that had been planned. Subsequently, this suspected person was taken into custody with the motor cycle on which he had come, parked closeby. This person who was so apprehended was around 22 years of age and a resident of Weliwita, Kaduwela. The apprehended person was Nilwala Kankanamlage Lahiru Pramodaya Perera.
Three hand grenades were found in the possession of the aforementioned suspect by officers of the Special Task Force. Subsequently, another person who came out of Welikada Prison who had in fact accompanied the suspect too was taken into custody. He was 23 years of age named Ruwan Pathirage Sajith Viduranga living in Udamapitigama, Malwana.
On information received from these suspects, officers of the Special Task Force had gone to inspect a three wheeler parked nearby and just at that moment the three wheeler had been started and had been driven at high speed towards Dematagoda. Officers of the Special Task Force who flew behind the three wheeler had stopped it and inspected it close to Dematagoda flyover and the driver who was in it and three suspects were taken into custody.
The driver of the three wheeler was 25 years of age named Johnson Amila living down Rawaththa Lane, Mattakkuliya. Others in the three wheeler were Sam Abeysuriyage Kelum Kumara aged 24 years from Summitpura, Mattakkuliya and 610 grammes and 02 heroin grammes were found in his possession. The third suspect was Welupani Ravi of 27 years t his registered address of Summitpura, Mattakkuliya. The police officers were able to find a sharp axe hidden inside the three wheeler when inspected.
Under the above circumstances officers of the Special Task Force managed to take 5 into custody with a live hand-grenade, a sharp axe, the three wheeler, a motor cycle with a bogus number-plate fixed to it with some mobile phones and 610 milligrammes and 2 grammes of heroin in possession of the suspects. A high police officer said that are being interrogated by Aluthkade Magistrate under detention orders from court. Future investigations would be conducted under direct supervision and instructions of Mr. M.R, Latif.
