Bollywood actress Sridevi passes away after heart attack!
Accomplished actress Sridevi passes away in Dubai as a result of a sudden heart attack on Saturday night. At the time of her death she was 54 years of age and in fact she had been to Dubai to attend a wedding ceremony of a relative of her family. She was admitted to hospital during the proceedings after a sudden heart attack and later had
passed away, it was reported.
Well-known film director Bonnie Kapoor happens to be Sridevi's husband and she was the mother of 2 daughers. Sridevi who blossomed into a queen among actresses during the nineteen eighties in the Hindi cinema was the pioneer of advancing the modern Bollywood cinema. Because of the special capabilities of creating box-office type of films even without the support of a leading male star, it was Sridevi who who carved her name as the supreme star of the Hindi screen in that period. Having played roles in over 275 films and apart from Hindi films she has contributed herself by performing outstanding roles in Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam and Karnataka films as well.
She has starred in Bollywood films such as Sadma (1983), Nagina (1986), Mister India (1987), Chandani (1989), Chaalbaas (1989), Laadla (1994), Judai (1997) at a stretch; but as a result of domestic involvement with her children she kept away from acting for sometime. However, she once more resumed her career in acting in year 2012 with the film English Vinglish and was involved in acting in films even upto the time of her death.
Sridevi was awarded Padma Sri Award by the Indian State in the year 2013 for the service rendered by her for the cinema. On immediate news of Sridevi's bereavement the Indian Prime Minister has released a message of condolence across his Twitter Account.
