I avenge the gods ... I avenge Sridevi -- comment from Ram Gopal
Comments made on the Facebook by award-winning film director of Bollywood, Ram Gopal Charma after the demise of the idol film star Sridevi has now found its way across newspapers of India. "I avenge the gods ... I avenge Sridevi!". Those were his comments and they were expressed with the idea accompanying the shock he has sustained at
the news of her death bringing out the rationality of god's nature that when the time comes, death inevitably gets hold of anybody, whoever it is.
His comments are as follows: "When I happened to casually check my mobile phone, as if in my dreams I came to know of this piece of news ... I couldn't even believe and what I initially thought was that it spoke about a dreadful dream. But then the number of about 50 messages I received rather randomly ... that news was confirmed.
I saw her first film 'padaherella vayasu' at the time I was in campus. That time I felt so enchanted by her. When I came out of the film hall I had the feeling that couldn't be a human female but that she must be an angel sent by the gods. Later after she began to work in my films; and even after I had a good understanding about her, I still began to retain that thought. I think that she had come to this world only for a short period of time. She's a special gift of god about humanity. If not, she could be some sort of a model created by god for the sake of human beings.
I can't refrain from speaking at this moment about that romantic candle-lit night and Sridevi was living with her mother those days in the street next to the street where shooting of my film 'Shiva' was scheduled. During the course of shooting I even visited her home. Actually it was a dumb-type of simple home as such. Though I was anxious to meet Sridevi; at that time it really wasn't easy. After that the film became a success. I got the chance of choosing her for my next film. I then went to discuss about it to that very same dumb-type home. At the time I went there, there wasn't even electricity there. In the process Sridevi had got the chance of flying to Mumbai.
Though we sat down in the hall, we had time to talk with her mother and very much less with her. In a short while Sridevi who was the queen of my imagination appeared before us. Actually I I saw her in the candle-lit half-darkened environment as a goddess. She of course apologised for her delay. Finally she agreed to our proposal. As such she consented to play the role in the film 'Kshana Kshanam'. It was a love story written on behalf of her. When she was escorted for shooting to the hamlet of Nandiyal, all shops, schools and homes in that area were closed. The reason for it was that people had actually rocked there to get a glimpse of Sridevi.
Sridevi was really a pretty and sensitive female. My opinion is that god creates someone like this once in every thousand years. I would cherish memories about her all throughout my life. Oh don't allow us to bear shocks of this nature! I avenge Sridevi because she has made me realise after her death that she is yet only another human being. I avenge her heart! Her heart was the root cause for her to lose her life. I avenge my ownself because I was called upon to bear thoughts of her loss. I avenge the gods ... for having taken her away from us so soon. Wherever you are ... I love you. I love you forever.
