No signatures of Mahinda and Chamal for No Confidence Motion against Ravi -- Bandula messes up Number 3!

MPs of United Opposition yesterday (3) handed over the no confidence motion against Foreign Minister Mr. Ravi Karunanayaka to the Deputy General Secretary of Parliament, Mr. Neil Iddawela.

It was understood that the signatures were obtained last morning on the occasion of Mr.

Keheliya Rambukwella's son's wedding held at Cinnamon Grand Hotel, Colombo. Bandula Gunawardena incidentally has made an error and because signatures were put down, the number 2 had been marked instead of 3 and the total amounted to 32 when it actually should be 33.

It is reported that former President Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa and Mr. Chamal Rajapaksa has refrained from signing the no confidence motion forwarded by the United Opposition. Website reports say that it was so done on purpose and the former President was not in favour of this matter. One allegation against Mr. Ravi Karunanayaka is that without revealing how a sum of SL Rs. 1450 lakhs was retained in a private safe and later that payment was made to acquire a house, which is a violation the Act. In the year 2016 too 37 MPs of the United Opposition launched a no confidence motion against Minister Mr. Ravi Karunanayaka but it was defeated in parliament.
