Van runs off the road killing a teenager in Tissamaharamaya

A dolphin type van travelling from Kataragama towards Tissamaharamaya carrying some pilgrims from Kataragama had run off the road had killed a teenage girl who was in front of her

dwelling house on the morning of the 15th instant on the spot.

The girl a seventeen year old from Tissamaharamaya Pullipallama area by name Kuruvitage Jayanthi Maheshika was the unfortunate victim in this unfortunate accident.The dolphin van carrying some devotees to Kataragama had been returning  to Polonnaruwa Sevanapitiya area when this accident occurred. The dolphin van had gone off the road and after killing the 17 year old girl had crashed on to a culvert and stopped.

Three small children and two women in the dolphin van had received minor injuries had received out door treatment at the Tissamaharamaya base hospital.

The Tissamaharamaya police is conducting investigations.
