Professor Sarath Wijesuriya expresses concern over the government activities
Professor Sarath Wijesuriya the present Leader of the free and justice movement and other members of the movement had rendered a terrific service to bring in the yahapalana government. But as the expected results have not been received by the yahapalana government the group lead by professor Sarath Wiesuriya have planned to have a protest
meeting at the Public library premises on the 21st June against the manner the yahapalana government had progressed so far.
It was the members of the free and just society and together the members of many civil organisations who made a tremendous effort to chase away and defeat the former president Mahinda Rajapakse on the 08th of January 2015..
Before the presidential election held on the 08th January 2015 several agreements were signed between the members of the free and just society and other civil organisations with the then members of the common candidate’s goup. Professor Sarath Wijesuriya had added that although the memorandum of understandings which were signed had no legal binding it should have been the duty of the yahapalana government to abide by the conditions that were agreed upon.
Professor Sarath Wijesuriya had said that the aspirations of the members of his free and just society and that of the members of civil organisations have been slashed and flouted causing them great concern.
In this regard the first protest in this regard would be held on the 21st instant and this would be continued in various other parts of the island.
