All these personnel had been greeted in this manner by an angry crowd.
The people who had gathered had blamed the persons who came for the coordinating meeting that it is useless having meetings without resolving the grievances of the affected people. As a result the proposed meeting had taken place after a delay of about one hour.
On the 16th instant from 11 am the affected people had staged a protest between the Gavilipitiya junction and the Dippitiya town which had delayed and blocked traffic for almost two hours. As a result of the protest the roads had been closed.
The Officer in Charge of the Aranayake police station Sujeewa Gunatillake had made a plea to the protestors to stop jeering and allow the Ministers and the group to conduct the planned coordinating meeting. The OIC too had obtained consent from the angry crowd to attend the meeting.
However when the Ministers and others who attended the coordinating meeting were leaving the premises of the regional health services office once again the hooting had stated. They had said they need permanent solutions and not temporary solutions like attaching plasters.
