Shave Warne and Marlon Samuels feud exposed

The 20 - 20 World Cup came to a close last night bringing victory to the West Indies team and
bringing joy to Sri Lankan fans too.

However, the dialogues that are brewing around in international circles by now about the comportment after the win of the West Indies who clinched the World Cup however is not all that favourable. The revelation that West Indian Captain Darren Samy exposed about his arduous journey upwards was a matter that brings sympathy to some. However what the ICC had concluded was that it was a political speech which was not in alignment with disciplines of the game.

In any case the ICC has decided not to take any action against him today. On the other hand match referee Ranjam Madugalla has decided to impose a fine of 30 per cent from the match fees on the guidance of the ICC. It was because of the untoward remarks he had made against Ben Stokes in the final over. In addition to such comments, on the occasion he was given the opportunity of saying some words after he was elected as the Man of the Match he had made some comments targetting and against his longtime rival former Australian cricketer Shane Warne which came into criticism.

These are his comments: "When I got up this morning ... it was with a certain thing in mind. Shane Warne speaks at length. I thought that I am doing this against Shane Warne. I responded with the bat and not with the mike". Even without stopping at that he spoke against Warne when questions were posed to him by reporters when the media briefing was in progress. "I don't know why he doesn't like me. I think my face is full. The reason is that his face is empty". Whatever these circumstances are, Shane Warne has not spoken about Samuel's issue in public. Even during commentaries in this time's World Cup, Shane Warne took a hand in it and in certain instances he had named Samuels as a weak player. After yesterday's game was over, he conveyed his greetings across Twitter by reminiscing Braithwaite who plundered four sixes and with a good word for Samuels who played well. Though that was his treatment on some occasions, it is an everlasting grudge that Samuel entertains about Warne, it is understood.

According to cricket commentary records, this altercation  had arisen between Warne and Samuels during an argument on the field which had occured in the Big Bash Tournament in 2013. The conflict is supposed to have gone as far as finishing with fisticuffs outside the field. Because of that argument Shane Warne faced a fine also.

That incident has contributed to both parties being at dagger's end. Whatever it is, bringing out that personal grudge at the Hero of the Match speech did not turn out to be something that was favourable in his case.
