No issue with the new Bikkhu draft act- Bellanwila Thera 

The Chancellor of the Sri Jayewardenapura university and the Chief Incumbent of the Bellanwila Raja Maha Viharaya  Professor Bellanwila Wimalaratne Thera had this to say on day

before yesterday the 16th at Anamaduwa addressing a ceremony.

He had added that in regard to the new Bikkhu act that is to be presented to parliament has no issue and no one should worry about it. The thera had said that if the separatist and extremists attempt to throw germs  in to the proposed act,what would happen is to deprive the Buddhist monks would have an extended freedom, independent management pattern and a system that suit their ways only.

He had said that the aim of this draft act is  for separate Sanga Sabas to adopt a different  unique roles and to establish them. During the past the Mahanayakes of all chapters had got together and had wanted an act of this form but the governments of Chandrika Bandaranailke and Mahinda Rajapaksa could not bring this act into play and it was not taken up by showing various faults. What needs to be done is to minimise all drawbacks and make laws within one frame work.This draft act should be passed in parliament with a good majority was the view of the Bellanwila Wimalaratne Thera.In that event the Bikkhus would be protected against any force that comes their way.

In this contest there are certain separatist and extremist elements who try to breed germs in them.The thera's advice for them is to read and understand the contents of this proposed draft act and to be convinced about the advantages to them.
