The Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna is to lodge a complaint today the 17th instant against the former president
Mahinda Rajapaksa in the Human Rights commission as his participation in the parliamentary general election as a candidate is unfair to all other candidates owing to his status of assets and present privileges as a former President.

In the Act number 04 of1986 President’s ownership of assets and privileges while participating in the forthcoming general election all other candidates have been surpassed and hence all are at a distinct disadvantage the JVP has pointed out.

Attorney at law Sunil Watagala and member of JVP former Member of Parliament Vijitha Herath are hoping to lodge this complaint it is learnt.
