Anti Mahinda faction to contest from a different Alliance
It is reported that the anti Mahinda faction who supported
wholeheartedly to make Maithripala Sirisena the common candidate to win in the January 8th presidential election have thought seriously to form a new alliance in order to contest in the forthcoming general election. The main aim is to defeat the former Presidend Mahinda Rajapaksa’a party in the election.
Those who would join together are the Jathika Hela Urumaya, the Anti Mahinda Rajapaksa faction parties and those other organisations which supported Maithripala Sirisena in the presidential election. This has been revealed by reliable political sources.
It is further reported that seniors of the Jathika Hela Urumaya has already commenced planning and discussions as to how to contest and win in the forthcoming general election.
