Deputy Minister Post to Thilanga

In the next few days there are talks in political circles that 05 Members

of Parliament of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party are to be appointed as Deputy Ministers of the government and be sworn in.

Those who are tipped to become Deputy Ministers are Thilanga Sumathipala, Duleep Wijesekara, Eric Weerawardena, Wijaya Dahanayake and Victor Anthony.

Thilanga Sumathipala had been very close to former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and it is learnt that he is now close to the present President Maithripala Sirisena.

The other day for the 80th birthday of Thilanga Sumathipala’s mother Milina Sumathipala a ceremony was held with the President Maithripala Sirisena’s attendance. A Street too was named in Maradana in the name of Milina Sumathipala. However the former President Mahinda Rajapaksa or his supporters were not present among the invitees.
