Baby Elephant dies after falling into Millagollewa Lake

In the Mahavilaththiya Police division the wild
life officers of the Settikulam Mannar junction wild life office have detected a baby wild elephant about one year old dead after falling into the Millagollewa Lake.

A farmer who was walking through the Millagollewa Lake to his ‘chena’ had seen this dead small baby elephant and had informed the wild life officers who had promptly come to the scene.

The opinion of the wild life officers baby elephant may have come to drink water to the lake may have fallen into the lake and may have died after falling into the mud in the  Millagollewa lake.
