Twenty Two Ministers of the SLFP to resign from their portfolios

Under the President Maithripala Sirisena’s

leadership 22 former SLFP members who were given Ministerial portfolios are to resign from their respective portfolios after the 20 amendment to the constitution of the parliament is passed. They want to remain to vote for it to be passed in parliament.

They are well aware that the period they could remain as Ministers is limited as the cabinet is to be dissolved no sooner the 20th amendment is passed.
