Senior Police officer who has to be transferred remains in Jaffna

The Island newspaper in an article published had conveyed that

there are displeasures within the police department that the transferring of a number of police officers from the Jaffna division was a huge concern. They are of the strong opinion that the Senior Deputy Inspector of police Northern Province Lalith Jayasinghe should have been the one transferred firstly in regard to the murder of the University student.

It is learnt that despite   fervent requests made to arrest a suspect from Wellawatta, a Swiss National the Senior Deputy Inspector General of Police of Northern Province had not instructed for his arrest.

However when the people had protested and requested for his arrest the CID had remanded him when he had returned to Wellawatta.
