The reason why ASP’s ‘Peacock Mansion’ is given to Mahinda?

It was revealed in the media recently that A.S.P.Liyanage’s famous ‘Peacock Mansion’ is

to be given for the former president Mahinda Rajapaksa to reside.

The house had been designed by architect Jeffry Bawa where A.S.P Liyanage had lived for a number of years. During the period he had lived in this ‘Peacock Mansion’ he had prospered in his business to unprecedented heights he had quipped.

In the recent years he had rented out this mansion to foreigners at rupees four lakhs per month as rent. He has given this mansion for the former president to live without charging him even a cent as rent. He had quipped that he has strong bonds of friendship with former Mahinda Rajapaksa as per his humble request as a help only he had given him to reside.
