Name of one actress who had dealings with Wele Suda ....
comes out because of case filed by a sister!
Though information was published about a particular
actress who had financial dealings with drug-dealer kingpin of a large scale, Wele Suda, her name had not been divulged. As a consequence of this it resulted in several tele-actresses having had to face inconvenience; but when a case was being heard yesterday at Magistrate's Court news was exposed of an actress alleged to be connected to this. It was tele-actress Udayanthi Kulathunga.
In order to confirm matters relating to a bank account of Udayanthi Kulathunga Mr. Gihan Pilapitiya, Chief Magistrate, Colombo had issued notice to the CID yesterday (11) to appear in courts on the 19th this month. This case has been filed by Udayanthi's younger sister. The said sister, Chamila Krishanthi Nilmini Kulathunga says that she wants the enjoining order issued by the courts against her in transacting business with banks and finance institutions belonging to her be removed. She says that though her sister who is an actress has had dealings with Wele Suda, she has no connection with those dealings and she had further pointed out that though the 10 lakhs of rupees which Chamila's husband had given Udayanthi was returned by her because this enjoining order has gone into force she is even unable to claim that money.
Mr. Asela Rekava, Attorney-at-Law appearing on behalf of Chamila says that Wele Suda has come to know Udayanthi Kulathunga at a musical show held in Dubai and that Wele Suda had given a sum of Rs. 3,60,000 for a tele-drama of hers on that rapport developed there and that that sum of money had been handed over to a tele-drama producer by her, he further told courts.
