The manner Veddah chief and wife Heen Menika applied oil at auspicious time

The Veddas or the Wanniyalaetto the indigenous people of Sri Lanka living in Dabana too

celebrated Sinhala New Year together. The Veddas had grouped together and celebrated the New Year.

The Veddah Chief Uru Warigaye Wannilaeththo at Dabana Gurukumbura Kotabakaniya village. During this moment at the auspicious time of applying oil the Veddah Chief had applied oil on the heads of his wife  Uru Wariyage Heen Menika , his younger brother Gunabandiya and rest of the Veddah community.
