General Secretary of the UPFA Susil Premajayanth has released a media announcement

this afternoon giving permission to contest from the Alliance if so wishes to, at the forthcoming General Elections. Reasons as to why the Alliance is in favour of the 19th constitutional amendment is explained in detail at length in the following manner, finally.

The United People's Freedom Alliance emphasise that Hon. Mr. Mahinda Rajapaksa when expressing his ideas recently to the media that he would take a decision about his political contribution and active politics on behalf of the victory of the United People's Freedom Alliance, and also if all coalition Parties of the United People's Freedom Party is to serve in a united manner at the forthcoming elections, contesting from the United People's Freedom Alliance is no hindrance for him.
