Dayasiri's "Tissa Tissa"speech

Mahinda Thero comes to Ceylon and calls "Tissa Tissa" .... Tissa drops the bow and arrows and kneels in worship

Chief Minister Dayasiri Jayasekera compared Tissa Attanayaka of the UNP joining the government as the occasion in which Mahinda Maha Rahathanan came to Ceylon in search of Devanam Piya (Tissa).


This is how he spoke about it: "Mihindu Maha Rahathanan comes on the Mahindagamanaya. After coming, he gets on top of a rock and searches for .... calls 'Tissa Tissa'. Tissa who had got ready with his bow and arrows then worships Maha Rahathanan. Aney .... when reaching the third step of the Mahindagamanaya, Tissa is with us.

The President has been searching 'Where is Tissa,Tissa'. Now here's Tissa Attanayaka Methithuma straight away dropping his bow and arrows and joining the Honourable President. The President opens the salon door and takes the people no sooner they come .... in another day or two".
