One lakh to Harun Lanthra who was left destitute .... after house being robbed!
It was recently that the house of distinguished singer who sang so many sentimental songs and illuminated the music fans for a decade was robbed and was rendered helpless.
As a result of this incident he not only lost his money but now lives in fear because of lack of security.
Burglars have entered the house where Harun Lanthra and his wife were living in the National Housing Complex in Polhena, Kelaniya during night hours recently. A sum of Rs. 70000 had been robbed from their almirah.
Though the police were notified of the robbery, it has still not been possible to nab the suspects.
The music world began talking about this incident and Harun Lanthra had been spending his time in shock after the robbery. Some days ago even the President came to know about this unfortunate incident. He then informed the Minister of Cultural Affairs asking him to give some support to this helpless artiste. As such, The Minister was instructed to donate a sum of Rs. one lakh by visiting Harun Lanthra in his house today (29), on behalf of the government.
The Ministry of Cultural Affairs has taken measures today to visit Mr. Harun Lanthra to grant Rs.one lakh to him. He had actually kept this lost money in hiding to be taken on a rainy day to be used in a case of emergency.
This act would nonetheless be a consolation to incomparable artistes who faced financial difficulties.
