Gampaha member of parliament sending rockets ....
at first session of Western Provincial Council meeting
On the occasion when the first session of the Western Provincial Council was held yesterday (Apr 22), media cameraman clicked pictures of a moment when paper-rockets were shot by a public representative, bringing to memory antics of schooldays.
He shot a rocket made of paper into the midst of the assembly after giving the rocket its finishing touches by making it pointed, not taking into account what is happening around.
This member of parliament who sent these rockets was...
none other than Ananda Harischandra de Silva who came into 15th position by contesting for the government Party from Katana in Gampaha, clinching 30,833 preferential votes by publicizing the theme "Jawayen Saviyen Ediyen".
He was not a newcomer to the Provincial Council and was a member of parliament even before this.
