PC Polls: Election Survay

 Lack of interest for PC polls?

Gossip Lanka video department carried out a survey recently in order to assess public opinion regarding the Western Provincial elections.


According to this survey which was conducted, it was revealed that public interest around Colombo over PC elections was at a low ebb. Various people who joined in this survey to express their views regarding this subject were from Dehiwala, Rajagiriya, Moratuwa, Boralesgomuwa, Delkanda and Nugegoda areas.
Their ideas are as follows and the relevant video could be seen below.



*Three-wheeler driver --
  Not that there isn't some tension for the elections. Even today the President's son is coming to Dehiwala. The person elected should be someone who can do something. This time .... what will happen ... is something like what happened like last time.



*Owner of three-wheeler --
  I of course don't know much about the parties who are contesting this time ... I can just remember one or two candidates. I have 3 names marked with me. Good, educated, intelligent people must be sent there .... not those who rob and try to earn money ... should be a crowd who does some service to the public.



*Vehicle owner --
  There are so many parties. Mostly they do some work only when the election draws nigh. Now can go on the roads without any problem. It's good if something is done ... the politicians should think and do it ... without waiting till the public ask for it. Since the government is in power now ... it'll be good if the same party wins.



*Bus passenger --
 Now no party is clear .. don't think of the majority. What we have in mind is only about someone who does some work for the town. But to a large degree .... no work is done. Usually only when elections are close ... some work is done. Extremely weak ... about inquiring into what is necessary. In some way or the other ... it'll be the government who'll win in this.



*Bank officer --
 Election is on the 29th. As far as I can remember ... the number of parties are more than 15. Work has been done ... and work has been not done also. It's people who are intelligent and someone who is honest and can do service to the country who should come. In Kesbewa of course ... it'll be the UNP who will definitely win. These days of course there's no tension ... when elections get closer there'll be tension.
