Refurbished Sri Pada opening

How Dolosmahe Pahana and Ghantara Kuluna was unveiled at Sri Pada
The Dolosmahe Pahana (Eternal flame oil lamp) and Ghantara Kuluna (bell tower) was ceremoniously unveiled by the Maha Sangha by the Minister of Defense amidst pirith chanting.

The Dolosmahe Pahana weighing 8613 kilos and the Ghantara Kuluna weighing 9000 kilos were airlifted recently upto Sri Pada by the Air Force MI 17 helicopter on 26 air
trips. Simultaneous to this unveiling, a special series of seth pirith chanting was conducted together with a kiripindu dana . In addition to this Dolosmahe Pahana and Ghantaraya being installed, several development activities to be carried out were unveiled at the Sri Pada. The Dolosmahe Pahana and the Ghantara Kuluna was created at Lellupitiya, Ratnapura for a period of over one year.
