ANANDA SARATH WILL NOT GET NOMINATIONS

No nominations for Ananda who made teacher kneel down ....because of loose talk!

News circulated around in the recent past that former PC member Mr.Ananda Sarath Kumara who was involved in the incident of making a teacher of Nawagaththegama Maha Vidyalaya kneel down was to receive nominations for the forthcoming North-West PC elections.

He was passed at the initial interview of the UNFP on the basis that if he contested at this crucial hour, he would have an outstanding victory and that the party too would gain benefits through the voting.

This news however happened to agitate the people in the area and it was interpreted as an attempt to bring thugs into power while discarding those to whom injustice was done. The former PC member who was on bail because of the relevant incident, was made to promise that no harm of any sort would be done by him to the teacher concerned. But since he had thought beyond limits of his powers, he had publicly announced at a meeting held in the town threateningly that he would not let the teacher live in peace. The husband of the teacher used this threat to his advantage as a testimony and thus went and lodged an entry at the police station once again about his fear of thuggery that his family was facing.

In the process, when the case was called again 2 days before the final decision regarding nominations and handing over of nominations, what the complainant party drew attention to courts was that based on the evidence of the husband of the teacher, that the former PC member had violated conditions of his bail. The judge then decided to once again remand this former PC member who used loose words of thuggery.

It has been reported by reliable sources that the SLFP has by now decided not to grant an opportunity for the PC member Ananda Sarath Kumara to contest at the forthcoming PC elections in connection with this unpopular incident. It is also now seen that because of loose words he has foregone everything!
