A girl Sanjeewani Pridarshini had lived a difficult life in a house under the
kelaniya bridge. She had obtained 3 ‘A’’s at this year’s A/L examination having
sat in the commerce stream. In order to express appreciation for her efforts
on the orders of the President, Minister Wimal Weerawansa had donated her
with a better house to live in.
Sanjeewani Priyadashini had studied at Ratnawali Balika Vidyalaya in Borella,
had lived in a temporary house along Wellampitiya ,Sedawatta near the new
Kelani bridge. She had lived in this temporary house amidst very fewer facilities
It is learnt that even for a small shower water seeps into her house and the
house gets drenched with water drops that come through the roof of the
house. The environment around had not at all been sound for a student who is
studying especially for a competitive examination like the A/L’s
It is learnt that she had studied amidst a lot of obstacles .In her first attempt
she had got 2 ‘B’s and 1 ‘C’ while in her second attempt she had managed to
obtain 3 ‘A’s having sat in the commerce stream subjects.
He President had ordered Minister of Housing and Construction Wimal
Weerawansa under the ‘Jana Sevana’ housing programme to donate a house
to Sanjeevani’s family.hr family members had met the minister at his office and
the house is arranged to be donated and handed over in the coming week.
Sanjeewani Priyadarshini’s father Jagath Kumara is employed as a person who
does odd jobs to make a living while her mother Sunethra Rupasinghe is more
or less bed ridden and is nursing for some burn injuries she had sustained.
Sanjeevani has two younger brothers who are still studying. Sanjeewani’s
family is confronted with financial difficulties and several other constraints and
obstacles.
The house that Sanjeewani is to be gifted is situated in Borella. She will be
