As the moon would be visible only on the 27th, the Hadji festival holiday has been made to be postponed from the 26th Friday to the 27th Saturday:
The government sources have announced that the Hadji Festival holiday which was scheduled to be held on the Friday the 26th has been postponed to the 27th Saturday.
This has been made after a decision and announcement had been made by the Muslim Main Mosque that the holiday should be given on the 27th instead of the 26th.
The change of dates has been confirmed by the authorities of the Public Administration and Internal Affairs Ministry. In this context it has been confirmed to the General Public that the Public holiday for this year’s Hadji would fall only on the 27th Saturday and not to consider that the 26th Friday should not be considered as a Public holiday.
The main mosque in Sri Lanka has also announced the date is Saturday the 27th.October.In this connection the Secretary of the Main Muslim Mosque has made an announcement confirming that the moon would not be seen in any part of Sri Lanka on the 26th October.
