DOG SAYS ABOUT ITS OWNER’S DEATH

The dog that brought the news of his master’s death

A story of a dog that brought the news of his Master’s death was reported from Panduwasnuwara. It had gone for a walk with its Master as usual and when the Master had fallen into a quarry. The dog had gone running to inform the family about it. The dog had been moaning by trying to convey the message.
Benedict Peiris had been 70 years old and was a retired person who had been the Master of this dog. He had died after falling into the quarry.
The story told by his wife is as below:
“My husband went to the well near our house to take a bath at around 9 ’o’ clock in the morning. At that time, I was preparing to cook the lunch.
After a while, the dog who went with my husband returned home. It started to rub itself on me and continue to moan which I have never seen it doing happened before. It never comes home alone leaving my husband. It accompanies my husband all the time. When I searched the house for my husband in the house, he wasn’t inside.
Then I ran towards the quarry but husband was not to be seen. Soap and the cup he has taken to have a bath were near the well. That well is very deep. I suspected that he has fallen into the well.  Our son was at work so I called him quickly. He came and called the Police. Later the divers found the dead body and recovered from the well.
It was this dog who brought the news home. It is like a family member. My late husband too loved him a lot.”

It was found that the death has been due to drowning in the water.
