Minister Bandula Gunawardena:
Last week Minister of Education, Bandula Gunawardena attended to a function at Rahula Vidyalaya in Matara. While in school he had said while speaking that he could still remember very well his school going days. The manner he said was like this..........
“During the time of legendary Kannagara, called the ‘founder of education’ there were no classes in the evening. It was only classes that we had to attend in the morning. There were no so called ‘tuition’ classes in the good old days.
Those days all children had to learn in addition to studies in numerous fields of connected to creative work like Carpentry, Metal and Clay. I could still remember very well learning lessons in various creative fields.”
