COUPLE COMMITS SUICIDE AT VEYANGODA

Aunt and the nephew has jumped at a moving train after their illicit relations had been caught by the family

A story of a couple (aunt and nephew) who had committed suicide by jumping on to a moving train was reported yesterday from Veyangoda. They have committed suicide as they have had been having in an illicit close ‘love’ relationship and it had been caught by their families. The boy had dragged the aunt towards a oncoming train express train at Heendeniya, in Veyangoda that had been travelling from Rambukkana to Panadura at around 4.55 a.m.
25 year old Nayana Liyanage who had been residing at Ihalagama , Gampaha and her husband’s brother’s son 22 year old Pradeep Kumara had committed suicide in this manner.
It had been recently revealed that the nephew who had visited his aunt when his uncle has not been at home had commenced a very intimate illicit intimate ‘love’ relationship.
They have been missing from their homes from two days ago and Nayana’s husband has made a complaint at Gamapha Police station. It is suspected that they would have stayed at some place before they committed suicide.
They have been very distressed after they have been questioned about their relationship. Train driver had seen a woman jumping over the moving train holding a man’s hand. A bank pass book, a mobile phone, Rs 50/- , and a two tickets (Anuradhapura to Colombo) issued by Anuradhapura railway station on the 16th have been found in the woman’s purse.
The Police have been able to find about their whereabouts through the address found on the bank pass book. Further investigations on this regard are been carried out.
