Could you remember that it only a few months ago it was the ‘Koleveri D” madness spread across the globe very fast.
Currently it is the ‘Gangnam’ the latest dancing style which is fast spreading style of dancing which is becoming popular over many countries in the world. Now it has become so popular that it had even come to the cricket field and in two instances in the ICC 2012 T 20 cricket , two players namely Chris Gayle of the West Indies and Jeewan Mendis of Sri Lanka had demonstrated this ‘Gangnam’ style of dance after taking wickets while still at their bowling creases. It was Chris Gayle who stated it initially. In the Sri Lanka and the West Indies match yesterday played at the Pallekelle International cricket Stadium Jeewan Mendis, Sri Lankan leg spinner after capturing the wicket of West Indian batsman Bravo caught in the deep after a quick fire 40 runs, off his bowling celebrated it with the popular ‘Gangnam’ dance while still at his bowling crease. He imitated the original dance to perfection.
This ‘Gangnam’ style of dance became popular only last July. It was a original creation of Korean rap singer PSY who did this new creative dance for a music video. It is reported that in the history of the U tube in the internet this is the most popular music video ever shown. Many other singers in several countries had made similar music videos copying the creation of SPY. At the time this article was published 3,139533 viewers have liked it among 320,924,565 viewers of the U tube.
After the ‘Gangman’ style dance music video was done by the Korean rap singer, live performances had been made in several countries in musical concerts. He also had appeared for Samsung Company commercials. For this dance he had been supported by pop stars Britney Spears and Tomy Cruz who had joined him.
