PRESIDENT MET ANOMA FONSEKA AT TIRAN’S HOME

To negotiate terms for Sarath Fonseka’s release President and Anoma Fonseka had gone to Tiran’s home:

There are indications that on the 18 th ‘Victory DAY’ celebrations day
Fonseka would be released:

It is learnt that to discuss about the finer points on Fonseka’s release President had visited Tiran’s home. Anoma Fonseka too had visited Tiran’s home. It is reported that the trio had met to have vital talks.
Accordingly it is learnt that he is due to be released this week end or before that. In the meantime a press conference was held yesterday with the participation of Minister Lakshman Yapa. The President had disclosed to the India Hindu media person that Sarath Fonseka would be released soon. The Minister had told that what every thing President tells the media, he has to oblige.
It is the first occasion that the President had disclosed to the media, to the Indian Hindu newspaper. He had confirmed that it is
 “Gotabhaya who wants him released soon”.

However Tiran has had talks with the President yesterday morning at ‘Temple Trees”. Again President had gone to Tiran’s home when Anoma Fonseka too had visited. This may be as Anoma Fonseka refused to meet the President when invited to “Temple Trees”. Hence an alternate venue had to be chosen for them to meet.

It is also learnt that Sarath Fonseka would be released on the 18th, the day “Victory day” celebrations day.
