21 year old dies after been electrocuted while trying to plug in his computer into the pantry plug point:
A 21 year old youth Gimhan Shaminda, possessing a high knowledge in computer literacy, living in Madampe area had been very unfortunately electrocuted to death, when he on the ‘Good Friday’ day had tried to plug in his computer plug into a plug point in the pantry nearby to his room where the computer is usually kept.
This youngster and his family are staunch Christians, had wanted to oblige his mother who wanted to hear via the internet the ‘Christian songs’. In order for her to hear these songs from the pantry itself the youngster had tried to bring the computer wire cord in order to plug into the plug point in the pantry to accede to his Mother’s request as the pantry was in close proximity to where his computer is usually kept.
While trying to plug in the computer wire cord into plug point it had received a electric shock and had fallen on to the ground. At the same time fire flames had come out. It is not certain and revealed whether it was because of defective plug point or whether he had by accident placed his fingers into the plug point. Fire flames had emerged from the plug point while he was trying to plug on the computer plug.
The neighbours had rushed in hearing screams and immediately taken Shaminda to the Madampe base hospital. Unfortunately it is learnt that it was of no avail as he had succumbed to electrocution sustained before admission to the hospital.
It is learnt that Shamindra had been known to be an expert at the computer for a long period of time and he had known well its manipulation.
The Police it is learnt from well informed sources are conducting investigations into Shaminda’s unfortunate death.
