NO NEED FOR A PAY HIKE

  A group of People’s Bank employees cry out
NO..NO.. NO.., for a pay hike:

Normally in the present days contest the employees of various institutions protest, make demonstrations, organise work to rule campaigns demanding for salary increases. In complete contrast to this mode of protests, could anyone believe that there would be any employees of an organisation who would protest against a request for a pay rise?

A group of such employees are at People’s Bank had organised a successful campaign against the normal protestors making cries NO...NO...NO.., to pay hikes. This is very rare and surprising protest were made when their counterparts were shouting with ‘slogans’ and protesting for an increase in their salaries.

The Ceylon Bank Employees Union had organised a work to rule campaign and demonstrations requesting for a pay hike during the lunch hour made in front of the branch premises. However a group of employees of People’s Bank in complete contrast had demonstrated against the opposing protestors that they do not need a pay hike.

It is learnt that the majority of the Banks affiliated to the Ceylon Bank Employees Union, such as Bank of Ceylon, People’s Bank, State Mortgage and Investment Bank and the National Savings Bank have joined in this protest. The opposing group had even hurled tomatoes at those protesting for a pay hike. The clash between the two factions had to be calmed down with the intervention of the Police.
