HERO BROTHER SAVES YOUNGER SISTER’S LIFE

A sister 9 years old had fallen into an unprotected well in their dwelling premises on New Year’s day was saved by his 13 year old elder brother:

On the New Year’s Day it is reported from Athuwana area in Chilaw District that a 13 year old brother had saved her younger sister 9 years old from drowning, when she had fallen into an  unprotected well 70 feet in depth.
The elder brother Nipun had seen the younger sister 9 tear old Achini going to bath and had seen her falling into the unprotected well. He had dashed to near the well and cried and screamed for help. He had said”sister had fallen into the well and is there anyone who could come to rescue her. I do not want her get drowned.”
As nobody came to rescue her he did a brave act without getting excited and perturbed by tying the rope of the bucket strongly to a tree and he had gone into the well with the help of the rope.
As he plunged into the deepest position of the well his sister had emerged from the deepest point of the well. He had held her while clinging onto the rope. The neighbours on hearing the screams had come to rescue Nipun and Achini. They had advised Nipun to tie her sister to the rope and told him to cling on to the rope tightly. The helpers had delicately pulled the strong rope very delicately and brought the two to the ground. It is learnt that the unprotected well is so deep about 70 feet in depth; the bottom of the well could not even be seen.

It was really a heroic deed by Nipun who saved his younger sister Achini from drowning. After the episode was over and the rescue operations were over they were so thrilled and happy and even shed happy tears.
