A Pandemonium in Maligawatta
The JVP had organized well, a protest walk against the killing by shooting of a fisherman in Chilaw and against the sudden fuel hike to show their dissent and disgust against these two recent incidents. It is reported that the Police was trying to block their way and disperse the protestors using tear gas and that the Police in turn had been attacked with stones by some JVP’s who had been hiding. It is also reported that there had been a terrific traffic block in the Maligawatta area.
