ELECTRICITY CHARGES AFTER FUEL ADJUSTMENT

After the adjustment of fuel prices, majority will have to pay increased electricity bills.

Those whose consumption is over 60 units will be increased by 40%-1,1/2 times more than the current billing amounts
Hence, electricity is produced using fuel, after the fuel price hike the electricity production cost too has gone up accordingly. Therefore the Electricity board shows a dire need to raise the present electricity bills as below:
The surcharges will be 25% for a consumption of 0- 35 units
35% increaase for consumptions of between 31-60 units
40% increase for all above 60 units which would work out to 1 ½ times the current bill
Since a majority are using above 60 units, many consumers will have to bear up the increased prices which would work out to 1 ½ times the amount of the current bill.
