MYSTERIOUS MURDER UNEARTHED AFTER 9 YEARS IN NELUWA

After killing the legal husband wife had lived 9 years with an illegal husband before the mystery of the murder was revealed: a tip off from Emergency Police 119 unearths the correct story.

A woman who had killed her legal husband and lived with an illegal had been brought to light with the aid of a tip-off given to Police via an anonymous telephone call to emergency number 119.

The wife of the deceased had killed her legal husband while he was sleeping and had buried his remains in a nearby sewerage pit in the vicinity behind their house. She had been absconding by saying various stories with regard to his disappearance to the relatives, friends and neighbours. To the Mother of the deceased she had told just after the incident that he had left the house as he was undergoing a bad period according to his horoscope.

 She had been absconding for 9 long years until an anonymous caller had phoned police emergency number 119 and had given a tip-off. The crime branch of the Neluwa Police had commenced investigations on the 21st and had followed up. The deceased has had a daughter aged only 3 years at the time he was killed. The Woman had little by little very tactfully burnt the legal husband’s pictures in stages. The daughter who is now about 12 years old could not remember the image of her father as she had not seen his photographs.

Following the tip-off the Wife of the deceased and the illegal husband were taken into Police custody and had been able get all the information through threatening them. When he was murdered he had been only 27 years old. The accused were produced before the Baddegama Magistrate Mahinda Pinidiya who had ordered them to be remanded until the 1st of March.
