I Have Not Issued Liquor Permits

Mervin Silva had made an open statement saying that he had never
Issued any liquor licenses to anybody in the kelaniya  area. He had
disclosed  this statement while speaking at a ceremony at the Divisional
Secretariat  Office in kelaniya.
“There is a lot of liquor bars scattered all over the Kelaniya area. Some
have accused and blamed me. I am against it. Not a single liquor licence
I had issued by me during my tenure of service as the M.P. I will instruct the
 Police to detect and raid all “kudu”,”Ganja”, and “Kassippu” pots and arrest
those  involved.  According to the ‘Mahinda Chinthanaya’ the “Mathaka
Thitha ”has to be implemented. If there are any Officers who do not abide by it
tell  me. We have been appointed to serve the people”
