NEW LUNCH PACKET REGULATIONS

Stringent Laws Have Been Brought In For Lunch Packets

• Newspapers Cannot Be Used To Parcel Lunch Packets

• Lunch Parcels Should be sold within 4 Hours After preparation

The Colombo Musicality Officials have brought in the following punishable laws, with regard to selling of lunch packets:
They cannot be wrapped with newspapers, as the ink used for newspapers would be poisonous when contaminated with the cooked food.
The lunch packets should be sold within 4 hours after preparation before they become stale.
All distributors of lunch packets have to be registered with the Municipality. New laws have been passed in this regard. They intend to recruit new officers to monitor this exercise. In this connection to educate the distributors of lunch packets, they had convened a meeting yesterday at the Colombo Municipality premises.
