This boy, in a member of the Royal College U 15 cricket team.On hearing about the child via messages without informing the Police had met the abductors a secret place in Bulathkohupitiya and had told them that they are unable to pay Rs 5 million as ransom, but could pay Rs 2,800,000/- immediately for which they had agreed.

They had gone to the place ,the abductors wanted to come had paid the agreed sum and got their only son released, without any harm done to him.
It is reliably learnt that the Herath family lives at a place down Templer Road, a very close to the industrial zone but in a residential area where in the vicinity a new Asbestos cement factory is being erected to commence business. It is learnt that a number of residents around the Herath’s family had protested against this venture as it is residential area it is likely to be detrimental to the health of the residents and all of them had filed a court case, where Dr Sharm Herath had been at the helm of it, who had taken the main initiative. He is of the opinion that this abduction may be connected to this court case, may be to give him a wake- up call not to protest.
