The shooting which took place inside two Muslim mosques in Christchurch around 1.30 in the afternoon on Friday, New Zealand time became the most talked about piece of news which captured attention all over the world. This attack targeted at the same time at two mosques called Noor mosque and Linwood Islamic Centre resulted in 49 persons losing their lives already. 

At the time the attack was let loose, close upon 500 people including players of Bangladesh cricket
team had been inside one mosque while there had been only about fifty persons inside the other mosque. 

The main person who launched the barrage of gunshots has entered all alone while focusing his attack live' to the media. He has been identified as an Australian national of 28 years of age known as Brenton Tarrant and it is something of special interest to observe that he has his face during the video. It is captured on the video how the barrage of gunshots fired all alone had struck nearly 30 people. The foremost objective of this attack was the group of devotees who were engaged in worship. The assailant has released in websites where he has uploaded by saying in a 74 page letter that though this was apparently an attack focused on Islamists, there is yet a meaning which goes beyond embedded in it. He has revealed in his manifesto about anti-immigrant issues, racialism and cultural issues that were other reasons for this attack. 

"I did not come to New Zealand with the motive of launching an attack as such. But then later I realised that this is the best country for my strategy. It was as a result that I made this attack today. Not only that this will be a signal for western countries but I possess the feeling that I have done the duty owed by me for my nation" ... the attacker has noted in his manifesto. 

Because of this incident, three males and one female has been taken into custody on suspicion. New Zealand security units said that apart from this, several bombs set up in the city have been disarmed. Because of this tragic scene, police have told public around that vicinity to remain indoors and New Zealand police commissioner, Mike Bush has exclaimed that a number of lives have been lost because of this shooting and has requested Muslims to refrain from going to their mosques that day for religious purposes. 

At the same time, New Zealand prime minister, Jacinda Ardern has said that this incident of shooting marks the darkest day in the country. The video where he adorns himself in battle armour prior to the shooting shows him saying 'Let's get this party started' and then had started his attack thereby.
