Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Malala Yousafzai were seen together on Wednesday at Claridge’s Hotel in Mayfair, London. British media reports that the two, who warmly embraced each other outside the hotel, then attended an afternoon tea costing £95 per person.
The total value of Meghan's outfit and jewelry for this meeting is estimated to exceed £26,000 (approximately £26,082). Dressed in a combination of brown and cream colors, she wore a cashmere sweater, a coat, and white trousers worth £1,700, and carried a Chanel handbag valued at over £5,000. Her usual diamond and gold jewelry, as well as a Cartier wristwatch, perfectly complemented this look. Malala was also dressed appropriately in brown and beige striped trousers and a coat.
Although Meghan's friends recently stated that she leads a 'humble,' low-profile lifestyle, her expensive fashion choices still manage to attract media attention. Meanwhile, she recently introduced an advent calendar priced at £112 via Instagram, promoting her lifestyle brand.
Malala, 29, resides in Birmingham as a married woman. Having survived a Taliban attack in 2012, she gained worldwide recognition for her continuous advocacy for girls' education through the 'Malala Fund'. Meghan and Malala first met during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, collaborating on a project to promote girls' education. Sources say this latest meeting at Claridge's was entirely private, and Meghan has not posted anything about it on her social media accounts.
The media also points out that Meghan has a history of building close relationships with influential women such as Oprah Winfrey, Amal Clooney, and the renowned feminist activist Gloria Steinem, who passed away on September 2nd at the age of 92.
Since arriving in Britain by private jet on August 26th, Meghan and Prince Harry have been keeping a very low profile. Before this tea meeting, the only time they were seen publicly was walking to a pub in the Cotswolds. According to reports, the couple is set to spend a quiet period in the UK until Christmas, after which they plan to travel to California.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry has revealed that he suffered severe shock and depression after stepping down from royal duties and moving to Canada. He said he felt useless and consequently suffered from depression for about two weeks. Currently, to maintain his happiness and mental balance, he adheres to a strict rule of not being away from his wife and children for more than ten days.
The couple is reportedly facing professional changes as well. Their Netflix and Spotify deals have ended, and the activities of the Archewell charity have largely ceased. Although they are reportedly enjoying rural life in England, security issues remain unresolved. Prince Harry is requesting better security funded by taxpayers, and his friends say that if it is not provided, he will permanently return to Montecito.
