Rosie's son Kanishka dies at 41

Mr. Kanishka Senanayake, the eldest son of former Colombo Mayor Mrs. Rosy Senanayake and the late renowned businessman Mr. Athula Senanayake, has passed away.

He was 41 years old at the time of his death due to a sudden heart attack. Mr. Senanayake, the eldest of the Senanayake couple's children, was also an active figure in the political sphere.

Accordingly, Mr. Kanishka Senanayake, who contributed to various political activities representing both the United National Party and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya, also contested the 2020 general election under the Samagi Jana Balawegaya.

In a recent interview, Kanishka Senanayake stated that he had harbored the idea of entering politics for a long time, and that the social services rendered by his mother, especially for women and children, had been a strong inspiration for his political journey, which he hoped to pursue.
