The decomposed body of a missing mother was found near a river bank in Matugama.

A female body, partially eaten by animals, was discovered by Matugama Police on the 21st near the Parawala river bank in the Ariyawanshagama area of Matugama. Acting swiftly on a phone call reporting a body near the river bank, police officers inspected the site and found several skeletal remains of the body and several pieces of women's clothing nearby.

The body thus discovered has been identified by her children as that of 76-year-old Kalanji Durage Rosalin, a resident of Dodampapitiya, Utumgama, Matugama, who had been missing since the 15th.

Matugama Police had reported the facts regarding this incident to the Matugama Magistrate's Court, and the relevant magisterial inquiry and post-mortem examination were scheduled to be held on the 22nd. Further investigations into the incident are being conducted under the direction of Matugama Headquarters Chief Police Inspector Mr. Dhanushka Bandara.
