A team of officials from the Kalutara National Institute of Health has succeeded in arresting two fake doctors who had been posing as medical practitioners and deceiving the public for a long time by operating treatment centers. During a sudden inspection of these illegal medical centers operating in the Aluthgama, Dharga Town area, officials revealed that these individuals were not registered with the Sri Lanka Medical Council.
These two suspects have been arrested on the charge of illegally providing medical treatment to the public without qualifications or official registration. The two fake doctors thus arrested were scheduled to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate's Court on the 20th.
This special operation was carried out under the full supervision of Dr. Charith Hettiarachchi, Deputy Director of Field Services at the Kalutara National Institute of Health. A group of Public Health Inspectors and Police officers, including Aluthgama Medical Officer of Health Mr. Sampath Niroshan, participated in this raid.
