The testimonies of actresses revealed from Padme's phone are being detailed in court

The suspect, Koralagamage Mandinu Pathmasiri Perera, also known as 'Kehelbaddara Padme', who was detained under the Prevention of Terrorism Act, was ordered to be remanded until the 3rd of next month after being produced before Colombo Chief Magistrate Asanga S. Bodaragama by the Criminal Investigation Department.

Arrested in Indonesia based on an international red warrant and brought to the country on August 31, 2025, he was held and interrogated by investigating officers.

The technical division of the Criminal Investigation Department has successfully recovered deleted data from the suspect's mobile phone, revealing a wealth of important information for the investigation. Accordingly, 8,441 phone calls, including 1,101 recorded calls, approximately three hundred thousand photos, and 5,031 video clips were found on the phone. In addition, investigating officers informed the court that the phone numbers of 13 prison officials, as well as photographs of 7 models and politicians, were among this data.

Information regarding 20 powerful drug traffickers in the country and connections maintained with 19 criminals for whom red warrants have been issued have also been revealed through this phone data. 20 separate accounts have been opened for the respective drug traffickers, and further investigations are underway regarding these under the Money Laundering Act. Furthermore, 17 bank accounts belonging to the suspect, deposit slips from ATMs across the island, 13 documents found at his residence in Indonesia, and information about his legal travel abroad and subsequent 15 visits to 13 countries using fake visas have also been uncovered.

Officials from the Criminal Investigation Department, presenting the suspect Kehelbaddara Padme to the court, stated the following: "Your Honor... This suspect was deported from Indonesia based on a red notice issued by Interpol. Subsequently, on September 2, 2025, he was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department at Katunayake Airport and investigated under detention orders. The Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission was informed on several occasions about his detention. Eight mobile phones were found in the suspect's possession. Their data had been erased. Later, this data was recovered. Information regarding 8,841 phone calls was revealed from these mobile phones. 326,671 photographs were uncovered. 1,101 phone recordings were found. 5,039 video clips have been discovered."

"Your Honor... During the analysis of the mobile phone data, information regarding 20 powerful drug traffickers was revealed. The Police Narcotics Bureau was informed about this. The phone numbers of 13 prison officials were found on his phones. The Commissioner General of Prisons was informed about this. Information regarding 7 actresses and models was revealed. Photographs and phone conversations related to 9 politicians have been found. Further investigations are being conducted into these matters," they stated.

Further elaborating, officials from the Criminal Investigation Department stated, "Among the photographs found on this suspect's mobile phone were images of 19 passports belonging to individuals involved in various criminal activities. Additionally, 17 bank accounts are being investigated. This suspect has traveled abroad with a legal passport since May 21, 2021. He has visited approximately 13 countries, including Dubai, Japan, Indonesia, Russia, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Laos, on 15 occasions. This suspect is also being investigated in connection with recent firearms discoveries."

The Colombo Crimes Division informed the court that he has also been named as the 18th suspect in the Ganemulla Sanjeewa murder case. As the relevant case will be recalled on the 4th of next month, the Colombo Crimes Division requested that the Prison Superintendent be ordered to produce the suspect in court on that day, and that he be transferred to a high-security prison as he is a key suspect in this incident. Furthermore, the Criminal Investigation Department stated that the Judicial Medical Officer had formally requested that the suspect be referred to a physician specializing in physical ailments.

Attorney Chaminda Athukorala, appearing for the suspect, requested the court not to send his client to Welisara Prison but to any other prison and to ensure his proper safety. Considering the submissions, the Magistrate ordered the suspect to be remanded until the 3rd of next month and informed that the Prison Superintendent would bear full responsibility for the suspect's safety. Furthermore, the Criminal Investigation Department was ordered to submit a consolidated evidence report pertaining to the charges against the suspect under the Prevention of Terrorism Act.
