The body of the Godigamuwa New Year Princess was found on a bed in her house with her lower body nude.

A young woman, who lived alone in a house located in the Godigamuwa area of Ratnapura and had been crowned an Avurudu Kumari (New Year Princess) in a previous year, was found suspiciously dead inside her home. The 32-year-old woman who mysteriously lost her life in this manner has been identified as Gamage Nisansala Sandamali.

Ratnapura Police have currently launched a special investigation regarding this death.

Police state that the deceased young woman had been living an extremely reclusive life in this house for some time. She had ensured that the main entrance door of the house where she lived was usually kept closed at all times. However, when neighbors noticed the door continuously open since the 7th, serious suspicions arose among them, and accordingly, they immediately acted and informed the Ratnapura Police Station about it.

According to that information, when a team of police officers went to the relevant house and inspected it, this young woman was found lying lifeless on a bed in the house. Police investigations revealed that at the time of her death, she was wearing only a T-shirt on her upper body, and her lower body was in a nude state.
