Vimal's former media secretary arrested due to vehicle misuse

Prasad Manju, who served as the media secretary to former Cabinet Minister Wimal Weerawansa, has been arrested by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on charges of misusing state property.

As confirmed by the police, the main reason for this arrest is a complaint received by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) regarding the illegal use of vehicles, fuel, and other resources belonging to the State Engineering Corporation.

The complaint alleges that these resources were used without authorization during the period when Mr. Wimal Weerawansa held the Cabinet Ministerial portfolio, and the arrest was made following initial investigations into the matter.

The Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) is currently pursuing further legal action and conducting extensive investigations regarding these allegations and the incident involving the suspect.
